Android 5.0 Lollipop Version is the latest Android Mobile
Operating System developed by Google Inc.
Firstly Android L was released on June 25, 2014 and it was officially
announced by Google as Android 5.0 Lollipop Version on October 15, 2014.
Android L is released in Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Google officially announced its
Lollipop Version is available in Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Motorola’s Nexus 6, Nexus 7,
HTC’s Nexus 9 and Nexus 10. Its official updates were available on November 12,
2014 in Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.
The most important change in Lollipop Version is “Material
Design”. With this Material Design
feature, elements can dynamically shrink and enlarge the white space between
elements and provides a look as 3D appearance.
It provides many features. Some of them are
Multiple Device Compatibility: Lollipop Version
will support different devices like Smart watches, TV’s, Cars. It is designed to
be flexible so that it works on devices.
Optimized Battery Usage: It provides a battery
saver feature which extends your battery life by Up to 90 Min and it is
flexible to manage the power usage. It shows the estimated time left before you
need to charge.
Improved Security: It provides security to allow
friends to log in on your devices so that no one will access your private
files. It provides Security by using Android Smart Lock.
There are some minor improvements in Camera, Fast Multitasking, Battery Life, Audio and Video Experience features, Quick
Settings, Notification settings, Better Performance with Smoother User
Experience.
Android 5.0.1 Version was released on December 2, 2014. Google Nexus phones and tablets were available
for 5.0.1 Version Updates which introduces a few Bug Fixes.
Android 5.0.2 Version was available for Nexus 7 on December 19, 2014.
Android 5.1 Version was released in February 2015 as part of the Indonesian launch of Android One variant. Google announced the update 5.1 officially on March 9,2015. Many Android One variant devices are sold in Indonesia and Philippines.
Android 5.1.1 Version provides improvements in performance and proper big fixes. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is available for LTE models of Google Nexus 4,5 and 9 from May.
Android 5.0.2 Version was available for Nexus 7 on December 19, 2014.
